The works are a result of an exploration on something that triggered my curiosity. At first sight it looks like it is rather diverse, but there are of course themes that are constant throughout the works, like the use of lenses as a metaphor for the eye, the urge to concentrate on something, or to focus attention.
And there is also the use of maps, scientifically looking instruments, photographs as apparent neutral means to get a grip on our environment.
I would like to consider these works as comments on the way we observe the world and at the same time they are an invitation to wonder about points of views. All the works are completely made by me, except some welding and lathe work, which are carried out by Jaap van Rouendaal and the animal-like things of the Don’t Look Back sculpture which are made by Joke Werkhoven, she also made all the other textile items in some other works. I'd like to thank Walter Teijgeler for designing this website.
